Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta is an Action-adventure genre game where in this game you will play the role of a tomb raider named Faris Jawad who is accompanied by his younger sister who wears a hijab , Dania .
Where when they were looting a tomb, then were intercepted by a group of evil terrorists who were also interested in the object they were after from the tomb, Faris and Dania managed to escape the pursuit of this terrorist group, and as predicted, this terrorist group did not let Faris and his sister just got away with it, and this is the beginning of the epic adventure of Faris the tomb raider.
The unique thing about this game, because if you take a look at this game, it was inspired by the popular game made by Naughty Dogs , namely Uncharted , even I was fooled by the title of this game so I read it as Uncharted: Trail of Ibn Battuta because it's so similar
The similarity of the main character who is also a tomb raider, with Faris Jawad 's appearance which is practically similar to Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series , it's hard not to compare Unearthed with Uncharted .
But that doesn't mean that the game Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta is just "copying" the Uncharted series for granted, this game has its own characteristics, firstly the characters Faris and Dania are Muslim, even Dania wears the hijab, and it feels unique because it's still rare for someone the main character in a game who is a Muslim,
Not only that, the location settings that you will visit also have a lot of Middle Eastern nuances, from starting in the Pyramids, Deserts, Muslim Settlements in Morocco , the main thing is that the Middle Eastern setting feels very good in this game, Cool!
Gameplay :
In terms of gameplay, those of you who have played the Tomb Raider and Uncharted series must be familiar with the gameplay in this game, where your character will often be faced with obstacles that must be passed, walls to climb, traps on each stage that can just kill you. yes, even though the obstacles in this game are not as difficult as the two series earlier, they are quite exciting and still challenging.
Storyline :
In my opinion, the story in this game is quite standard, those of you who have played a game with a story about a tomb raider must already know where the story of this game ends.
Visual :
It is unexpected that this game has quite beautiful visuals, where every object and texture in this game is clear and feels "wow" when you first see it, the visual part of my favorite is when on the stage where you walk around the Morocco City Market.
Where the city feels alive with buildings that spoil the eye typical of the Middle East, although unfortunately there are very few NPC activities. So, because of that in this article, I mostly took screenshots while on the Stage in Morocco , because to be honest, it's really cool!
Audio :
From the Audio side, you will be presented with typical Middle Eastern music, that's for sure, and for me it feels comfortable listening to music in this game for quite a long time, from the Voice Act side it's also quite good, where the Voice Act feels one with every sound. characters and being able to make each character feel quite alive, so for me the audio of this game doesn't disappoint either.
Likes :
What I like about this game is of course the visuals that deserve thumbs up, especially when it's right at the Moroccan City Market , it makes you feel at home! Also, the characters Faris and Dania are quite interesting, their interactions sometimes feel unique.
Dislike :
What I am disappointed about this game is that the controls are really bad, the character controls feel stiff and uncomfortable to control, the transition from animation to another animation still feels rough
Sometimes character controls also experience bugs such as not being able to move, buttons that seem locked so they don't respond when pressed, item pickup buttons that are also unresponsive!
What annoys me is also the motion animation when fighting with bare hands also feels stiff and not very satisfying, even if I could I would like to skip this battle session, for matters of Control this game is very bad for me, making games with already beautiful visuals feel "Mubajir"
So is the game Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta worth playing, in my opinion, it's still worth it, provided you don't expect too much of an exciting gameplay experience like the Tomb Raider series or the one most often compared to Uncharted ,
But for those of you who just came to see how cool this game's visuals are, you won't be disappointed and might end up falling in love with the Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta series.
